i remember the first china made guitar was Phoenix , sound more like a lan
ting tan of old hokkien penang.
there was a regular troubadour singing along the streets:

chi chia li hue choon kia ho-ok kien, na,
kia kau ti puah hai, k achin ka chween chu aw yen, nah ;-)

interestingly this hokkien troubadour turned out to be a communist
informer!
and only caught when he had done most damage .

a good guitar is light, smells good, oozes with confidence.
the sound is resonant, reverberates through the hall.

yes, i played the guitar but not as good as the violin, for which i was
second violinist in the nus symphony orchestra in the sixties.

A good guitar is not a good guitar at all if no one plays it well even
how good they smell. Ramirez would be better used as burning log if the
owner doesn't play it. If G Harrison was using the Kapok for his songs,

I know what you mean. That's why I was shocked when our air force bought
F18s and Mig 29 for local use. Our pilots are crashing Tebuan jets. They
are just not good enough. I believe some idiot crashed a Mig 29 2 years
ago, and got himself killed in the process

a dusty old violin lay, out of tune on the mat.
one deutchlander offered D1
another D2
a maestro came by, picked up the violin, tuned it, played it put it back.
the bid shot up, up and up to more than D 150 000
